Deep-Rooted Safety

Proven by 8 Nuclear Submarines

Over the span of 80 years of operation, eight lead-bismuth-cooled nuclear submarines demonstrated unwavering safety, even enduring severe accidents under extreme operational demands without succumbing to fire or explosions. These submarines revealed deep-rooted safety resilience. Challenges faced by the submarines—corrosion of structural materials, polonium radiation leakage, and the solidification of metallic coolants—were all overcome through groundbreaking research and development, ensuring the future of this technology.

Safety : Proven Through Testing and Simulation
Full-Scale Test Facilities : HELIOS (since 2005) and PILLAR (since 2017)

Comprehensive safety and operational simulation testing facilities: Loop-Type (10m H), Pool-Type (8m H)

These facilities rigorously simulate safe operations to ensure reliability.Natural Circulation, Load-Following Operations, and Thermal-Hydraulic Design Code Validation Tested and validated through OECD/NEA Benchmarking (2008–2017)
